2014 WATERLAT-GOBACIT Student Prize

The first call for applications to the WATERLAT-GOBACIT Student Prize was for dissertations approved between 1 January 2012 and 31 December 2013 and closed on 31 January 2014. We had 12 applications, 5 for the Masters Prize and 7 for the Doctoral Prize. We appointed an Evaluation Commission composed by 15 academics, including several external to our Network. We provide below the details of the Evaluation Commission.

There were two winners, who will have their thesis published as a book by a consortium led by the State University of Paraiba Press (UEPB), Paraiba, Brazil. The awards were announced during the VI WATERLAT-GOBACIT Annual Meeting that took place on 27-31 October 2014 in Manizales, Colombia.

Also, given that we had a very strong field, the Editorial Commission decided to invite all other candidates to submit an article based on their thesis for publication in the Student Prize Series (SPREMIO) of the Network’s Working Papers. The articles were published in Antonio Rodríguez Sánchez (Ed.), WATERLAT-GOBACIT Working Papers, Vol. 2, No 5, December 2015, downloadable here.
