The theme of the VIII Meeting was chosen in memory of the victims of repression and assassination for defending the right to the fair access to water sources, to water-based services, and to the protection against the impacts derived from related socio-natural risks and threats.

The meeting was jointly organized by the WATERLAT-GOBACIT Network and the Centre for Research on Culture and Development (CICDE) at UNED, with the support of the Public Services International (PSI), Costa Rica’s National Association of Public and Private Employees (ANEP), the Water and Sanitation Commission (CAS) of Costa Rica’s National Council of University VCs (CONARE), and the Costa Rican Institute of Water and Sanitation (AyA).
